This week, I’ve been struck by the many ways in which I hide my true feelings from others; the many ways I hide my true self from others.
Ironically, every time I open up and “reveal” myself, I feel stronger, more capable, more … connected.
The desire to have people accept me, like me, treat me with kindness, is not achieved through my attempts to earn their attention, is not won by being some certain way.
In fact the opposite is true, when I make no attempt to please others, I connect more genuinely and deeply. Perhaps it is with only a few but that is better than the false affection I could and have received from the masses.
Today I open my heart wide and let the world see who I truly am.
